How long does the program take?+
It depends on your schedule and how fast you pass each stage. Admissions will give you a training plan with dates when you enroll.
Do I need my permit before I start?+
You need a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) before you drive on public roads. You can start the ELDT theory while you study for the permit.
What is ELDT?+
Entry-Level Driver Training is required by the federal government (FMCSA) for every new Class A driver. You must finish ELDT theory and behind-the-wheel training at a school listed on the FMCSA Training Provider Registry before the state lets you take the skills test.
Is Sky Truck School on the FMCSA Training Provider Registry?+
Yes. After you finish, we submit your training record to the registry so you can schedule your skills test.
Can I pay in installments?+
Yes. You can pay in full, weekly, every two weeks or monthly. Your balance and every payment are visible in your student portal.
Do you help me prepare for the pre-trip test?+
Yes. Every student gets our pre-trip video course with the exact words to say for each part of the inspection, plus practice on the truck.
